FORMAT

Every 2 Minutes, For 8 Minutes (Max Effort Cals)

  • 10 Snatches

  • 8 Thrusters

  • Max Effort Cals on Bike

Details: 3, 2, 1…Athlete 1 will approach the barbell and complete 10 snatches then 8 thrusters while athlete 2 waits at the bike with hands on the seat. The moment athlete 1 is done with their barbell reps, athlete 2 can hop on the bike and for the remainder of the 2 minute period they work for cals. At the 2 minute mark, athlete rotate - athlete 2 goes straight to the barbell to work through 10 snatches and 8 thrusters, and athlete 1 goes to the bike and places hands on seat (you are permitted to adjust the seat at this time if you want, but hands must be on the seat before your partner is done with barbell work). You continue this until the 8 minute mark. Total cals earned is your score.

  • RX: 135/95

  • Intermediate: 95/65

  • Novice: 65/45

STANDARDS

assault bike:

thruster: you are permitted to squat clean the first rep if you want - hips must descend until hip crease is below tip if knee, and athlete must come to a full press at the top with knees, hips and arms fully extended (this means head through the window at the top - if you’re looking at the ceiling it likely doesn’t count)

power snatch: reps come from the floor each time - athlete pulls barbell with snatch grip and catches at the top with straight arms (if you press out slightly that’s fine but if you catch lower than the top of your head it’s a no-rep) - rep is complete when athlete shows full extension of knees, hips and arms at the top

biking: hands on seat until judge gives thumbs up to start biking then GO - don’t break it
